Warriors Make History with a Third Place Finish in the National Tournament

After a long and successful season, the Warriors Men's Basketball team will return home with some hardware! They clinched a commendable third-place finish in the highly competitive NCCAA National Tournament! In a back-to-back battle between #6 SAGU and #5 Clinton College, the Warriors came out on top. The Warriors defeated the Bears 88-73 for the third-place finish. #10 Keyshawn Clestino-Clyde showed out in his final career game, leading the Warriors with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks. #13 Harley Upton shot impressively from the line, shooting 18 for 19. He ended the game with 26 points and 5 assists. Freshman, #11 Michael DeHorney was a key piece to today's win, playing all 40 minutes of the game. Mikey contributed 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Mikey will also bringing home another piece of hardware being selected for the All-tournament team.

This third-place finish is even sweeter with the history that was made. This was not only the farthest Nelson University-Arizona has gone in one season but is also the first playoff win in school history! Congratulations Warriors on your historic season!

We hope to see you in the Scott Activity Center next season to cheer on our Warriors Athletics teams!

Go Warriors!
