SAGU Basketball Closes Out the 23-24 Regular Season with a Bang!

The Warriors Men's basketball team closed out the 2023-2024 regular season at home with back-to-back wins against the Skyhawks of Navajo Tech University. These two wins concluded the Warrior's 9-game winning streak.

On Friday, February 23, the Warriors and the Skyhawks fought back and forth on both the offensive and defensive sides. #2 Calvin Windley's hustle skyrocketed the Warrior's energy off the bench, being aggressive on defense with 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Our point guard, #15 Rob Jenkins' shot was impressive from the field, shooting 6/7 and 4/5 from three. #13 Harley Upton also led the fight with 20 points, shooting 7/8 from the free-throw line, with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. The Warriors defeated the Skyhawks on night 1, 78-61.

Saturday, February 24, the Warriors met the Skyhawks for the last game in the Scott Activity Center. We started the afternoon honoring our very own senior, Keyshawn Celestino-Clyde. #10 Keyshawn Clyde ended his last regular season college game muscling his way to 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 block. #11 Michael DeHorney helped Keyshawn in the paint, matching his 9 rebounds and 1 block while shooting 7/12 with 15 points. The Warriors crushed the Skyhawks once again, 84-54.

Thank you to the Warriors fans and family who showed up for our team this season. We are excited to make an impact in the NCCAA playoffs coming March 20. Please continue to support us as we make our way through the post-season and we will see you back in the Scott Activity Center next year!

Go Warriors!
