Clark Maloney, Head Strength Coach, has dedicated over 30 years to mentoring young athletes and guiding them toward greatness through faith and basketball. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University and a Master’s in Education and Kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University, equipping him with the knowledge to lead both administratively and on the court. Maloney’s passion for coaching stems from his desire to positively impact young lives while serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This calling has driven him to help athletes discover their potential, a mission he feels blessed to continue at Nelson University, where the institution’s values align with his own. His journey to Nelson is the culmination of a lifelong dream to support the “next Great Ones” in finding their path to greatness through sport and faith. His coaching philosophy centers on fostering high character, integrity, and compassion, emphasizing that true strength comes from allowing God to guide one’s steps. By modeling these values within the community, Coach Maloney encourages his players to grow not only as athletes but as individuals grounded in faith. While his coaching journey includes numerous successful stops on and off the court, Maloney finds the greatest reward in helping young people unlock their potential and purpose. As Associate Athletics Director and Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Nelson University in the 2024-2025 season, Maloney continues to inspire athletes with his faith-driven approach, building a program rooted in character, community, and the pursuit of excellence.
